The best two days ever!

On the 27-28^th of April 2012 a marvelous city of Ternopil became a place where something really cool and amazing was happening. Of course, I am talking about the 3^rd EYP Weekend!

Usually, the first step to something new and unknown is followed by fear and confusion because you don’t know what is waiting for you behind the curtain. However, it is always a great pleasure and happiness when you realize that your worriment did not come true and was not an obstacle on our path. This mini-session was the first time when I tried out myself as a chairperson. To be honest it was challenging for me but at the same time I had a great desire to contribute my time, knowledge and energy to make this session a huge success. I really wanted to create a comfortable environment for delegates so they could feel free in their actions and opinions. I remember when during officials’ team meeting the President of the session Dasha Popelnukh said that we, officials, came here for delegates and that was so true.

In my opinion, the session was well-organized and successful. Delegates have got a chance to observe how EYP works and use their knowledge in practice. I have noticed that pupils are active and smart, they are ready to discuss and debate on important and essential issues. They have proved once again that Ukraine is rich in clever and mature pupils, who are considered to be the future of our country and Europe. Delegates, who were present at the session inspired me and by their being sincere and friendly encouraged me to continue my EYP activities. I am proud that I got an opportunity to work with such wonderful delegates!

Yes, you may watch pictures, videos, listen to the stories about the session but still it is not enough. The main thing here is EYP spirit and I can say without any hesitation that the 3rd EYP Weekend in Ternopil was permeated with this spirit. To my mind, it was good starting point for pupils who in the nearest future are willing to become official members of EYP-Ukraine.

I am still full of positive emotions and pleasant memories. I will never forget funny and energetic Teambuilding, tough but fruitful Committee Work, spicy food from organisers, hot and productive General Assembly. I want to thank everyone who was a part of this awesome session! It is possible to do anything but only when you feel the support of people who have already become very dear and close to you. There is no doubt that everyone felt it and that is why with joint efforts we managed to make these two days unforgettable both for us, officials, and delegates.

This is EYP and it is my life! I am happy that I have become a member of this fantastic organization. The 3^rd EYP Weekend in Ternopil has proved me that EYP is a right place for me. I sincerely wish it would be a right place also for the delegates who took part in Ternopil mini-session.

Найкращі два дні!

27-28 квітня у чудовому місті Тернопіль відбулася справді крута та чудова подія. Звісно ж я говорю про 3ій ЄМП Вікенд!

Зазвичай, перший крок у напрямку до чогось нового та невідомого породжує страх та збентеження, тому що ти не знаєш, що чекає тебе за завісою. Проте, це завжди велике щастя, коли ти усвідомлюєш, що твої переживання не справдились і не стали перешкодою на твоєму шляху.  На цій міні-сесії я перший раз випробувала свої сили як модератор одного з комітетів. Чесно кажучи, це було випробуванням для мене , але в той же час у мене було велике бажання витратити свій час, знання та енергію, що зробити цю сесію успішною. Я справді хотіла створити комфортне середовище для делегатів, щоб вони могли бути вільними у своїх діях та думках.  Пригадую, коли під час зустрічі офіційних членів сесії Президент сесії Даша Попельнух сказала, що ми приїхали сюди заради делегатів, і це – правда.

На мою думку, сесія була добре організована та успішна. Делегати отримали шанс дослідити, як працює ЄМП та використати свої знання на практиці. Я зауважила, що учні є активними і розумними, вони готові обговорювати та дискутувати на важливі та потрібні теми. Вони ще раз доказали, що Україна багата на мудрих та морально зрілих учнів, які є майбутнім нашої країни та Європи. Делегати, присутні на сесії, надихнули мене і своєю щирістю та дружністю заохотили мене продовжувати мою діяльність в ЄМП. Я пишаюся тим, що я мала змогу працювати з такими чудовими делегатами!

Так, ви можете переглядати фотографії, відео, слухати розповіді про сесію, але цього не достатньо. Найважливішим є дух ЄМП, і можу сказати без будь-якого сумніву, що цей вікенд був просякнутий цим духом.  Я вважаю, що це хороша точка відліку для учнів, які в майбутньому матимуть бажання стати офіційними членами ЄМП-Україна.

Мене досі переповнюють позитивні емоції та приємні спогади. Я ніколи не забуду веселий та активний Teambuilding, виснажливий, напружений, але плідний Committee Work, пікантну їжу від організаторів, гарячу і продуктивну General Assembly. Я хочу подякувати кожному, хто був частиною цієї дивовижної сесії! Можливо зробити все, але тільки тоді, коли ти відчуваєш підтримку людей, які вже стали дорогими та близькими для тебе. Без сумніву, кожен відчув це, і ось чому спільними зусиллями ми змогли зробити ці два дні незабутніми і для нас, офіційних членів сесії, і для делегатів.

Це – ЄМП, і це – моє життя! Я щаслива, що я стала членом цієї фантастичної організації. 3ій Вікенд в Тернополі підтвердив мені, що ЄМП – це правильне місце для мене. Я щиро бажаю, щоб воно стало таким і для делегатів, які взяли участь в Тернопільській міні-сесії.

Давайте будувати наше майбутнє разом з Європейським Молодіжним Парламентом!

Do you want to learn not to sleep for weeks? Try yourself as a journo on an EYP session! And what about the ability to be in a few places at the same time? Open new possibilities!Kyiv session, that we all were looking for, started off unexpectedly to me. Coincidentally, the defense of the course paper and the beginning of the session happened to be on the same day. Because of that I missed the first day of the session and joined everybody at the party at “Palata №6”. Vodka in test-tubes, waiters in white robes, dances on the tables, Mr. Stipp ( further – Riaan) wearing a strait robe, coved in tape… It all is like an illusive dream in a shroud of a cigarette smoke. Ride to the hotel was highlighted by the taxi driver’s question: “So you’ve had a conference in Palata or what?”

Next morning at 8 am the first session’s video was already being filmed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81Sc8mv_TDo) Afterwards there were first assignments from the editor ( further – Karlis) and the journos’ photo shoot.  The promising sunny morning continued by our travel  to IMB, where organizers and delegates were waiting for us. From now on there was no time to rest. Day 1. Obeying Karlis’s order to avoid press-room, I spent the whole day with my not that numerous committee JURY.  Appearing rarely in journos’ room, I tried to help our video-editor ( further – Anya ), who edited the first video by herself. In the evening in “Kinopanarama” I found out that Ukrainian delegation didn’t have a video-presentation about Ukraine so I went  to the nearest coffee place with WI-FI to get it from the Internet. When I came back, Eurovillage was already going great. That’s when it hit me that the deadline for the first individual article was in an hour, and I hadn’t written a word. Luckily, I wasn’t the only one. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an opportunity to fully enjoy the party and all the presentations. The article was done by 1 a.m., just at the time when we already had to finish the other one. We were catastrophically lacking time. While delegates were peacefully resting in their beds, all the journalists gathered in Anya’s room with laptops.  Meanwhile on the 3^rd floor at 3 a.m. the video for the session’s song was being filmed. Day 2 smoothly continued the first one. The work in committees began, as well as Anya and I started working on 2 videos at the same time, and one of them was successfully performed the same evening during Euroconcert. Despite the official dress-code we all felt a “home-like” atmosphere. The song by Bruno and Miguel, as well as the performance of “The Shadow of Your Smile” by head orgas were some of the highlights of the concert. What was really unexpected, that the head organizer of Vinnytsya NS and a delegate of the 69’s International Session became an illuminator of the scene.Nevertheless the biggest surprise was 9 limos, that were waiting for us by IMB. Night city light, champagne, great company inspired me for a new article. It’s a shame, but that night I accidentally fell asleep and didn’t wake up till 7 a.m., having skipped the journos’ meeting at 2 a.m. and failed a few deadlines. Probably, all the sleepless nights before the course paper took over.

Day 3 started off with a mess, because all the jounos and orgas had to move out of the hotel and move in an apartment. We’ve had half an hour to pack all out stuff and get ourselves ready. With a heavy rain outside, fully packed backpack and torments in my head for falling asleep, I had to finish the articles first and also chose the best photos. Having it done, I went to the “court” – to Karlis. It was a shame to look in his sleepy eyes with mine, that got enough sleep.Having the second video done, we went to the planetarium. Unfortunately, we skipped a spherical movie because of a long ride, but got just in time for a “Space Party”. There was only one thing I didn’t like – it was too short. By 11 p.m. everybody was out in the hall.When we came back the apartment, we continued the fight with sleep. As usual, everything was written at night. Anya made some noodles with cheese for us at 2 a.m., and we let her go to sleep.Pretty soon everyone else joined her, only Karlis and I continued sitting in the kitchen with our laptops on. Finally, all the sleepless nights took over, and the editor lost his fight to sleep. With the article done and the editor asleep, I couldn’t stay awake anymore. In about 20 minutes the orgas called and informed us that the General Assembly would start in an hour.

Day 4. Karlis decided not to wake Anya up, so I was in charge of the videos. First of all, I had to photoshop a group photo of journos, that was on the last page of the 3^rd issue (http://issuu.com/sambear/docs). Try to find who is missing on the photoJ Afterwards pictures of all of the delegates should have been taken by the dining room for that same issue. And finally, the videos were edited. Lacking time, I wasn’t able to take photos of my lovely committee during GA, which was upsetting. Anya came to help me around 3 o’clock. Together we finished the video for the closing ceremony. Unexpectedly, the most difficult part was to export the video file. At first, it exported sound only. Second time, the same thing happened. It took us 40 minutes to get it done, during which Karlis called a few times telling to hurry up. Being kind of in panic, Anya and I tried it for the third time. As people say, God loves number 3. But this time, I think, the crucial fact was more than 100 people expecting the video. Because, over the last 20 minutes Karlis and other were trying to play for time.

Finally, the video is on the flash drive, so we come running all across the university to the assembly room. I ran into the door with the last accords of “Imagine” and gave the video to Anya Lachihina with the round of applause. While she was doing everything needed to show it on the big screen, the audience was clapping and trampling their feet, Zhenya was counting “10..9…8…7…” J. The biggest reward for us was the fascinated eyes of the viewers. There is not enough words to be able to describe all the feelings I got, hugging and saying goodbye to everybody.There is one thing I know for sure – I am extremely thankful to all the orgas, to our journo team for that priceless experience and looking forward to seeing to again sometime.P.S. Хочеш навчитися тижнями не спати? Спробуй себе в ролі журналіста на сесії ЄМП! А як щодо вміння перебувати в декількох місцях одночасно? Відкрий у  собі нові можливості! Довгоочікувана Київська сесія розпочалася для мене несподівано. Так вже склалося, що день захисту курсових робіт на моїй кафедрі співпав із днем початку сесії для журналістів. Через це співпадіння я пропустила весь перший день і приєдналася до всіх лише на вечірці в «Палаті №6». Горілка в пробірках, офіціантки в білих халатах, танці на столі, Мр. Штіпп (далі – Ріан) у гамівній сорочці, обмотаний скотчем… Як примарний сон у пелені цигаркового диму. Переїзд в готель о другій ночі запам’ятався питанням таксистки: «Це у вас конференція була в Палаті?»

О восьмій ранку вже розпочалися зйомки для першого сесійного відео (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81Sc8mv_TDo), опісля – перші завдання і настанови від редактора (далі – Карліс) та фотосесія журналістів для газети. Багатообіцяючий сонячний ранок продовжився переїздом до ІМВ, де на нас вже чекали делегати і організатори. Від цього моменту про спокій можна було забути.

День 1. Слухняно слідуючи настанові Карліса якомога рідше з’являтися в прес-румі, я провела цей день зі своїм небагаточисельним комітетом JURI, про який вже йшлося нижче. Зрідка з’являючись у кімнаті для журналістів, помагала чим могла відео-редактору (далі – Аня), яка саме монтувала перше відео. Ввечері у «Кінопанорамі» виявилось, що українська делегація не має відео-презентації, і я побігла до найближчої кав’ярні з  Wi-Fi за нею. Коли повернулася, Eurovillage вже був у розпалі. І тут я згадала, що дедлайн для першої індивідуальної статті вже через годину, а у мене ще ні слова. На щастя, я була така не одна. На жаль, повною мірою насолодитися вечіркою і презентаціями не вдалося. Статтю закінчила о першій ночі, коли вже треба було здати іншу, парну. Часу катастрофічно не вистачало. У той час, як делегати мирно спочивали у своїх ліжечках, в Аніній кімнаті зібралася вся когорта журналістів з ноутбуками. А на третьому поверсі о третій годині ранку знімався кліп на пісню сесії (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zXcZVzS3_0).

День 2 став плавним продовженням першого. Розпочалася робота в комітетах, а у нас з Анею – робота над двома відео одночасно, одне з яких вдалося показати на Євроконцерті ввечері. Попри офіційний дрес-код концерт пройшов у «домашній» атмосфері. Запам’яталась пісня Бруно і Мігеля, а також виступ головних організаторів сесії із піснею “The Shadow of Your Smile”. Ніхто не очікував побачити головного організатора Вінницької Національної сесії, делегата 69ї Міжнародної сесії у ролі головного освітлювача концерту.

Проте найбільшою несподіванкою стали 9 лімузинів, що чекали на нас біля виходу з ІМВ. Вечірні вогні центру міста, шампанське і весела компанія – от і натхнення для нової статті. Соромно зізнатись, але тієї ночі я випадково заснула і проспала до сьомої ранку, пропустивши журналістські збори о другій ночі і заваливши всі дедлайни. Безсонний тиждень перед курсовою дався взнаки.

День 3 розпочався метушнею, в цей день журналісти і керівники комітетів мали виселитися з готелю і переїхати на квартиру. За 30 хвилин треба було зібрати речі та привести себе до ладу. На вулиці – дощ як із відра, на спині – рюкзак з усіма речами, в голові – докори за проспану ніч. Перш за все було необхідно закінчити статті та обрати найкращі фото. Впоравшись із цим, пішла на «розправу» до Карліса. Виспаним очам було соромно дивитись у невиспані. Пізніше доробили друге відео і попрямували в планетарій. Сферичне кіно ми пропустили, бо надто довго збиралися і добиралися, але якраз встигли на початок «космічної» вечірки.

Не сподобалось одне – мало, о 23:00 всі вже стояли з речами в холі. Разом із прибуттям на квартиру розпочалась запекла боротьба зі сном. Вже звично треба було писати вночі. Аня приготувала нам макарошки з сиром о другій ночі, і ми відправили її спати. Згодом до неї приєдналися всі інші, тільки ми з Карлісом продовжували сидіти з ноутбуками на кухні. Безсонні ночі зробили своє, і редактор більше не в силі був протистояти сну. Стаття дописана, поряд спить редактор. Як тут не заснути? Хвилин за 20 після відключки подзвонили організатори і сповістили про те, що Генеральна Асамблея розпочнеться вже за годину.

День 4. Карліс вирішив не будити Аню, і відповідальною за відео призначили мене. Перш за все треба було відфотошопити загальну фотку журналістів, що на останній сторінці третього випуску газети (http://issuu.com/sambear/docs).

Знайдіть, кого не вистачало на фото Потім – провести фотосесію всіх учасників біля їдальні для обкладинки того ж випуску. Ну і врешті-решт знайшовся час для відео. Через брак часу пофотографувати свій улюблений комітет під час Асамблеї не вийшло, через що я дуже засмутилася. Аня прийшла мені на допомогу вже близько третьої години дня. Разом ми домонтували відео до початку церемонії закриття. Але найскладнішим виявився експорт відео-файлу, який зазвичай взагалі не викликає ускладнень. Перший раз експортнувся лише звук, другий раз сталося те саме. На це пішло 40 хвилин, протягом яких Карліс кілька раз дзвонив, підганяючи нас. Ми з Анею вже в паніці вирішили спробувати втретє. Як то кажуть, Бог любить трійцю. Та в цьому випадку, думаю, більшу роль зіграло всезагальне очікування більше як 100 учасників сесії. Адже протягом цих останніх 20 хвилин Карліс і всі інші всіма силами намагалися якомога довше потягти час. І от нарешті відео на флешці, і ми з низького старту через всі коридори з гуртожитку – в актову залу інституту. Я забігла в залу на останньому акорді “Imagine”, віддала Ані Лачихиній флешку під загальні аплодисменти, і поки вона робила все необхідне, щоб показати його на великому екрані, глядачі тупотіли ногами, плескали в долоні, а Женя відраховувала «10…9…8…7…» J  Захоплені погляди глядачів – найбільша винагорода, якої тільки можна було чекати. Обіймашки на прощання – замало, бракує слів описати всі відчуття.

Одне знаю точно: безмежно вдячна всім організаторам, нашій команді журналістів за цей безцінний досвід і з нетерпінням чекаю зустрічі колись знову.

From second to second

 Never been so impressed, so exhausted and so content before. And these 3 words precisely describe my consequent feelings after exactly one month of EYP life. Starting from Roksolana Pidlasa’s tweet advertising VinSpring National Session which actually was the key point of introducing me to EYP and ending up with PEYPD which began on a flight back from Istanbul 69th International Session.

In the morning of March 2nd I was completely unaware of what EYP is indeed and fell to getting nervous. But that, of course, was before the teambuilding started and I got myself completely engrossed into National Selection. I could not even notice time passing by as I became closely bonded with people I had known only for a couple of hours. And I had a sense of my committee members to be my best friends at that particular period. Via teambulding I established assurance I could trust them, believe them, rely on them. And that was how we managed to form a crew. But it was not limited to my committee only. I felt as if all the delegates, chairs, journos, organisers were one party aiming at the same purpose and sharing together the same moments of joy. Evening venues tied us even more. I had a vision as if I had known those people for ages. The 4 days of session darted as if they were 4 minutes. After the closing ceremony I was all in a rush to get to the hotel and luckily (as I believed) did not get involved in humble “goodbyes” that are so touching as always.

Not a single day passed after VinSpring session that I did not have EYP thoughts in my head before I was called an invited to be a delegate from Ukraine in Istanbul 69th International Session of EYP. No doubt, I consented to the proposal. I saw it as the continuation of the party. And it was! Although, the start seemed to be slightly sluggish, the session began to wind up like a spring brining more and more fun, excitement and emotional prints. And another EYP round of getting closer and connected to each other took place. And it was even more impressive to have people, who have different cultures, languages, traditions, nurtures become one whole tiny macrocosm.  During the International Session we learned even better how to share completely opposite viewpoints, keep our committees working by sustaining high team spirit. Our lives in Istanbul have interflown towards our common goal. I have never felt so European before. IS indeed looked as if we have established new society: strong and free. On a flight back I had already been missing every piece of the past 10 days of the session. In the same evening I recalled back the moment during the closing ceremony when I watched dolorous looks and tears curving down the faces of people who simply could not believe that it was the end. Neither could I. And still I do not. Istanbul was the place where the session ends but where the new bridged society begins.

On April 2nd I woke up along with ‘Imagine’ on my alarm clock and realized how amazing the month that  dashed through was. I tended to believe I was to support the ongoing trend of EYP life.

“Dear president, honourable members of the board, distinguished guests, fellow delegates, mighty orgas and lovely chairs,

like you all should have mentioned I forgot the amazing group of journos, but I not only forgot to list the journos, when I walked up to the stage my head was suddenly empty and all my thoughts about what my speech should include in order to totally represent the delegates were gone. That’s the reason why I decided to write down the thoughts and emotions I had during the session and say thank you once again.

First of all I want to stop talking to you as delegates, chairs, journos and orgas, but as friends of mine.
Of course it’s utopic to call all of you friends, due to the fact that there wasn’t enough time to get in contact with all of you, but from my point of view the word friends is used correctly here. Many individuals get to know each other, connected by an amazing organisation that is trying to improve the world we are living in. Usually, wherever an EYP-session takes place, some random people walk by during team building and seem to be embarrassed just by watching us. Anyways, somehow this system is working and connects the participating EYPers. During the short time of this session I found friends who I’ve already started missing just several hours after my departure. To me, the whole session appeared as a dream and I wasn’t able to believe that it is actually over.
When I look back my head is full of emotions and memories. I was so impressed of how much afford everyone was putting into the session, especially the orgateam that prepared the session months ago.
At my previous sessions my average of sleep was about 3 ½ hours per night, but during the RS in Kiev my average was about 2 hours and less. I think that’s a good sign to underline the awesomeness of the session (in the EYP-way of thinking)
I can only conclude by describing my current mood: I miss being tired, I miss all the noise around me, I miss all of you who made this session unique for me and I hope that we willl meet each other again in future!

Коли ми приїхали, перед корпусом інститутів стояло уже близько півсотні галасливих молодих людей, що грали в якісь, тільки їм зрозумілі ігри. Найвеселіше, що все це відбувалось не так далеко від дороги, а головне, студенти інституту в ці дні були на парах (коли ми перейшли на задній двір для тимбілдингу, на кожному поверсі вишикувалась шеренга зацікавлених «глядачів»). З перших слів Президента сесії, стало зрозуміло, що тут буде круто…

Я знав, що комітет JURI може бути не дуже популярним, але ж не настільки! Коли ми зібрались, нас було всього п’ятеро! Спочатку важко було навіть зрозуміти в які ігри нам грати, бо більшість з них розраховані на більшу кількість людей, але, зрештою, це теж відіграло свою ролі в побудові комітету…

Церемонія відкриття, офіційний і не дуже одяг, промови від організаторів і гостей, і таємничий доктор Флаверс (мені одному здалось, що в нього є якась неймовірна здібність з’являтись нізвідки? lol). Спочатку я не зрозумів, де в нас відбудуться тимбілдинги, але виявилось, що в нас просто шикарна локація – все в одному! (а ще червоні доріжки усюди!)

Ввечері прийшов час для другого досвіду іноземців в Києві – київський метрополітен. Наш комітет виявився наймобільнішим і найшвидшим (ага, нікого чекати не треба і взагалі молодці!), тому поки прибули до «Кінопанорами», встигли ще й трошки прогулятись містом. Євровіледж є мабуть моїм найулюбленішим вечором під час сесій – завжди смачно, гамірно і весело, а потім ще й під час презентацій – або весело (як німецькі короткометражки), або пізнавально (як іспанська презентація з картинами Гойї). А тепер ще поєднайте це з мішками-лежаками і смачною їжею, і отримаєте приблизно те, що було в нас. Перший вечір в готелі, знайомства і «можна-забути-про-нормальний-сон»…

Наступного ранку нам пояснили дуже веселу штуку – стікери, що були в наших пакетах, можна було чіпляти на інших людей: червоний означав поцілунок, блакитний – танець (організатор нашого комітету: «персональний танець, чи як?»), зелений – обіймашки. До кінця сесії всі ходили обліплені цими стікерами, хоча і постійно старалися їх позбутись.

В цей день усі комітети мали тематичну поїздку в місто, але наш комітет виявився особливим не лише за кількістю делегатів – ми залишились в ІМВ і приступили до роботи в комітеті. Зрештою, ми провели цей час аж ніяк не гірше, до того ж встигли трохи попрацювати.

На вечір у нас планувався євроконцерт, що став справжнім шоу зі світлом, піснями та навіть танцями від головних організаторів! Після концерту повертатись в готель було ще рано, тому всі чекали, що їм скажуть організатори. Що ж, слова були б зайвими – побачене просто шокувало усіх! Уявіть собі 9 лімузинів, що стояли просто під інститутом, очікуючи своїх щасливих пасажирів! (Третій досвід пересування іноземців в Києві! lol) Що було далі, те назавжди залишиться в лімузинах…Неймовірна прогулянка вечірнім містом, в найкращому товаристві, на найкращому транспорті…

Коли лімузини привезли нас до готелю, ніхто не хотів «зупиняти вечірку», а тому вирішили йти до найближчого бару в пошуках продовження. Там було весело, галасливо і «недовго»! Десь близько дванадцятої з’явились опівнічні духи добра і свята – доблесні українські захисники правопорядку. Зайвим буде пояснювати, що вечірка була шумною – сусідам зверху «євровечірки» мабуть були не до вподоби.

Наступний день обіцяв багато роботи, але наш чудовий комітет зумів якось так добре зорганізуватись, що складалось враження, що ми тільки їмо й граємось, а потім, час від часу, пишемо щось…Резолюція була готова саме в час – яке щастя! Остання вечірка теж була дуже незвичною – одна лише локація чого варта! Київський планетарій підготував спершу космічну подорож (перегляд фільму був цікавим для нас, але ще цікавішим для звичайних людей, які туди прийшли! lol), а потім ще й вечірку, на якій кожному було чим зайнятись: хочеш – танцюєш, хочеш – просто спілкуєшся на диванчиках, хочеш – граєш в усілякі веселі ігри…

Той факт, що наступного дня Генеральна Асамблея, нікого не зміг зупинити від продовження вечірки в готелі…

Останній день був особливим як мінімум тому, що це підсумок усієї нашої роботи і перебування на сесії. Що ж – все вийшло дуже добре: запеклі дебати, після яких обов’язково дружні жарти, рівність при голосуванні за одну резолюцію (!), що привела зрештою до зміни позиції всього одного делегата (!) і резолюція пройшла. Загалом – робота комітетів вийшла дуже продуктивною, бо всі резолюції пройшли. Церемонія закриття, багато хороших слів, останнє відео від журналістів, сертифікати і слова в дорогу…

Як сказав Нік: «Не кажу вам «до побачення!», а кажу «до зустрічі!»»…До нових зустрічей!

P.S. Важко писати про сесію, бо ще досі до кінця не пережив ці події, але є потреба написати, поки враження свіжі. І ще – сказати, що сесія сподобалась, рівнозначне тому, щоб нічого не сказати…Хочу подякувати організаторам, та усім тим, хто доклав зусиль, щоб сесія відбулась, команді журналістів, своєму комітету, Ніку та усім-усім делегатам. А також доктору Флаверсу, щедрим кухаркам з їдальні інституту, і люб’язному водію лімузину.

It seems like there is no way to be late if you live in the city where the session is held. But I can assure you that this can easily happen. In the hotel we were greeted by the organisers with open arms (in order to quickly hug you, give the welcoming package, the key, the mug and tell us everything we need to know). Somebody can say that the hotel was not the best and not the most comfortable one, but I could feel there the presence of science and knowledge (we were at the state enterprise of NAS of Ukraine), which soon enough filled in the heads of the delegates. The trip to the IIR, which had to become our “second home” for the next few days, was by tram and that was the first experience of using the public transport in Ukraine for many foreigners. Well, they are going to try out the other options too.

When we arrived, in front of the institute building there were already more than 50 young people standing, making a lot of noise and playing games, which were understandable only for them. The funny thing was that all this was happening not far from the road and the students at the institute were studying these days. (When we moved to the backyard for teambuilding, on every floor of the building we saw lines forming of people who wanted to watch us playing). From the first lines of the session President it was obvious that it will be awesome in here…

I knew that the JURY can be not very popular, but I didn’t know how much! When we gathered, it was only five of us in the committee! In the beginning it was difficult for us even to understand what games could we play, as many of them require more people, but in the end it all played an important role in forming our committee…

The opening ceremony, official and not really clothing, the speeches of the organisers and guests, and the mysterious Doctor Flowers (was I the only one who thought he has this amazing ability to appear out from nowhere? lol). In the beginning I couldn’t figure out where the teambuilding would be help, but then it appeared that we had a perfect location – all in one! (also the red carpets everywhere included)

In the evening it was time for another experience in Kyiv for foreigners – the metro in Kyiv. Our committee managed to be the fastest (of course you don’t need to wait for anybody and in general good job!), so before we ended up in the Kinopanorama, we had a small city tour. The Eurovillage is probably my favourite evening among all the others at the EYP session – it is always tasty, loud and fun, and then during the country presentation it can be fun (like the German short films) or informative (like the Spanish presentation of the Goya paintings). And now add the lying-bags and tasty food and you can almost get what we had. The first evening in the hotel, acquaintances and “you-can-forget-about-the-normal-sleeping”…

The next morning we were explained about a very funny thing – the stickers that we had in our packets, we could put on the other people: the red meant a kiss, the blue – a dance (the organiser of our committee: “private dance or what?”) and the green – a hug. Till the end of the session everybody at the session was covered with these stickers, even though tried to get rid of them all the time.

During this day all the committees had a themed trip to the city, but our committee turn out to be special not only because of the number of the people in it, but also because we stayed at the IIR and started the committee work. All in all, we have spent our time not worse than the others and even managed to do some work.

For the evening we had the Euroconcert planned, which turned out to be the real show with the lights, songs and even dances from the head organisers! After the concert it was too early to get back to the hotel, so we waited for the organisers to tell us what to do. Well, no words were needed – everyone was shocked by what they saw! Imagine 9 limousines standing right in front of the institute and waiting for their happy passengers! (the third travelling experience in Kyiv for foreigners! lol) What happened then, stays in the limousines forever… The incredible trip around the evening city with the best people and on the best transport…

When the limos brought us back to the hotel, nobody wanted to stop the party, so we decided to go to the nearest bar to continue it. There it was fun, loud and “not long”. Around twelve the midnight spirits of the goodness and holidays appeared – the valiant defenders of the Ukrainian law. It is needless to say that the party was loud and the neighbours from upstairs probably didn’t like our “europarty”.

The next day promised to be full of work, but our wonderful committee manage to organise everything so good, that it seemed we were only playing and eating all the time and then, only time to time, writing something. The resolution was right on time – great! The last party was also unusual – even only the location is worth mentioning! The Kyiv Planetarium has prepared the first cosmic travel (viewing the film was interesting for us, but even more interesting for all the ordinary people who came there! lol) and then the party, where everybody had something to do: if you want you can dance or just sit and talk on the small couches or play in various fun games…

The fact the General Assembly was the next day couldn’t stop anybody from continuing the party at the hotel…

The last day was special at least because it was the summary of all our work during the session. Well, it all turned out really good: fierce debates followed by the friendly jokes, the equal votes for one resolution (!), which made only one delegate (!) in the end change his mind and the resolution passed. All in all, the work of the committees was very productive, because all the resolutions passed. The closing ceremony, a lot of good words, the last video of the journalists, the certificated and the last words before the trip back home…

As Nick said: “I don’t say ‘goodbye!’, but I say ‘see you!’ ”. See you guys all in the future!

PS: It is difficult to write about the session, because you haven’t yet lived through all the events, but there is a need to write while the memories are fresh. Another thing – to say that I liked the session means say nothing. I want to thank the organisers and all the other people that made this session happen, the journalist team, my committee, Nick and every single one of the delegates. Also dr. Flowers, generous cooks and the institute canteen and the nice limousine driver!

Dear EYPers! We are incredibly happy to inform You about the results Mini-Session which was conducted between 24^th and 25^th sunny days of March in the lovely city of Cherkasy. The session was held with the help of:

Chairpersons: Iuliia Pustovoitova, Oksana Kagdin, Iryna Savchuk, Mykhailo Rozhkov

After a range of changes Uchenna Egbete was selected for the position of president. He has shown the highest level of proficiency to his beginning colleagues by his personal example.

The Weekend has connected 25 pupils and students of Cherkasy. The fruitful discussion took place within the general topic of the session “European integration of Ukraine: Difficulties and Prospects” in 4 committees. As a result, 4 outstanding resolutions were written and, anticipating the order of discussion, all of them were accepted after the voting procedure at the General Assembly. Farther – in the logical order.

The Teambuilding as well as Committee work took place in the School #15 which hospitably opened its door for the future European youth. The spring weather greeted the participants with 2 warm days and nights (very important point in the case of CJOs), so we could start the general teambuilding outside playing games loudly and free, shocking passerby and the school personnel. Later the committees joined their chairpersons and continued the teambuilding till the afternoon it their cozy classrooms.

The Committee Work was an especially exciting part of the session, as the delegates surprised us with their strong team spirit and productive work. The ideas proposed in the resolutions were bright and fresh, so the potential of the future EYPers made us feel proud.

As the logic ending of the day the delegates were suggested to join the Committee Dinner in one of the most popular cafes in the city, where they spent several hours sharing their impressions, getting experience from the CJOs and playing many thrilling games.

The General Assembly started the next morning, when the delegates came on time and surprised us with their will to participate in it. The Assembly passed as one breath, we heard lots of constructive suggestions and questions, and everybody was satisfied with it. The Closing Ceremony was touching for us like never before, it made eyes of even the most serious participants’ water. To make this difficult moment more easy and moving, our creative organizers Iana and Roman prepared a film which all of the participants have already seen 10 times or more. It was hard to say the last goodbye to the people whom we met at those happy days, but our hearts were warmed with EYP spirit, and it will is still with us even in this not spring-like weather.

As a conclusion, I just want to say that for the most of participants EYP Weekend in Cherkasy was the first EYP Session – either at the position of a delegate, chair, head-organizer, organizer or president as well, and all of them without exceptions have shown a remarkable striving for improvement and have done their best in this direction.

Європейський Молодіжний Парламент радий повідомити Вас про підсумки Міні-Сесії, що відбулася протягом сонячних днів 24-25 березня у чудовому місті Черкаси. Сесія була проведена за допомоги:

Головних Організаторів: Лідії Жгир та Роксолани Підласої

Організаторів: Яни Юхименко, Михайла Яковенка та Романа Бойко

Модераторів комітетів: Юлії Пустовойтової, Оксани Кагдін, Ірини Савчук та Михайла Рожкова

Після ряду змін, на позицію президента було обрано Ученну Егбете, котрий вразив своїх починаючих колег рівнем професійності у проведенні сесії.

Вікенд зібрав 25 учнів та студентів навчальних закладів Черкас. Плідне обговорення було проведене у 4 комітетах, об’єднаних єдиною темою «Європейська інтеграція України: проблеми та перспективи». У результаті було написано 4 резолюції, які, забігаючи наперед, усі були схвалені за результатами голосування на Генеральній Асамблеї. Проте, далі – у логічному порядку.

Побудова команд, так само як і Робота у комітетах та Генеральна Асамблея, відбулася на базі Загальноосвітньої школи №15, яка гостинно відчинила свої двері для майбутньої європейської молоді. Весняна погода зустріла делегатів двома теплими днями та ночами (що є дуже важливою деталлю у випадку команди організаторів сесії), тому ми мали змогу розпочати загальну побудову команд на вулиці, граючись у ігри голосно та вільно, шокуючи своїми діями перехожих та персонал школи. Пізніше комітети приєдналися до своїх модераторів та продовжили тімбілдинг у своїх затишних класних кімнатах.

Робота у комітетах стала особливою частиною сесії, оскільки делегати неабияк здивували нас своїм міцним командним духом та продуктивною роботою. Ідеї, запропоновані у резолюціях, вирізнялися яскравістю та свіжістю, що змусило нас мимоволі відчути гордість за потенціал майбутніх членів Європейського Молодіжного Парламенту.

У якості логічного завершення дня делегатам було запропоновано приєднатися до Вечері Комітету у одному із найбільш популярних кафе міста, де вони і провели декілька годин, обмінюючись враженнями від першого дня сесії, вислуховуючи поради досвідчених організаторів та граючи у захопливі ігри.

Генеральна Асамблея розпочалася наступного ранку, коли делегати прийшли раніше призначеного часу, незважаючи на літнє переведення стрілок годинників, та вразили нас своїм бажанням брати участь у асамблеї, яка пройшла на одному подиху від початку до кінця. Протягом дебатів ми почули багато конструктивних пропозицій та запитань, якими кожен залишився задоволеним. Церемонія закриття була зворушливою як ніколи, змусивши очі навіть найбільш серйозних учасників стати вологими. Для того щоб полегшити та розважити цей складний момент, наші креативні організатори Яна та Роман підготували відео, яке кожен з учасників переглянув уже 10 разів, чи навіть більше. Надзвичайно складно було сказати «До побачення» людям, яких мені випало щастя зустріти протягом цих 2 чудових днів, але наші серця були загріті духом ЄМП, і цей дух досі з нами навіть у цю зовсім не весняну погоду.

У підсумку, хотілося б сказати, що майже для кожного учасника ця сесія була у чомусь першою – на позиції делегата, організатора, модератора чи президента, проте, кожен з нас без виключень виявив надзвичайне прагнення до розвитку та вдосконалення, і зробив усе можливе у цьому напрямку.

P.S. Найбільше повеселив один коментар до цих фото – “halfplanking”! Знаю, що нічого смішного в цьому немає, але просто не можу втриматись

«Просто чекати» для мене не дуже цікаво, тому я спробував дізнатись якомога більше від головних організаторів сесії – Євгенії Мелеховець і Тані Корнійчук. Перший же факт мене вразив – незважаючи на їх значний термін в ЄМП, жодна з них раніше не була не тільки головним організатором, а й просто організатором сесії! Виявляється, нова команда багато працює і вчиться, а їм завжди готові допомогти досвідчені організатори сесій EYP. Бажання навчитись чомусь новому і взяти участь в організації сесії було таке сильне, що аплікаційні форми і просто листи з «візьми мене будь ласка в команду» ще довго приходили на пошту головних організаторів. На жаль, оргкомітет був уже сформований, але цього року буде ще дуууже багато заходів, на яких можна буде виступити в ролі організатора. Це і Odesa RS, і серія EYP weekends, і багато інших подій, так що залишайтесь активними!

Виявляється, сесія проводиться за сприяння держустанов, тому до її організації долучився і «головний еколог країни» (aka Міністр екології і природних ресурсів) та інші серйозні люди. Хочеться подякувати їм усім за сприяння та співпрацю. Разом з тим, з паном Зам. міністром пов’язана весела історія – він дав досить потужний імпульс до «еволюції» сесії (а як же інакше, еколог же? ). Справа в тому, що спочатку слоган сесії був трохи іншим, ніж зараз, але бачення проблеми навколишнього середовища і нашого майбутнього в цьому відомстві мабуть трохи інше…

«Взагалі, апокаліптичність є провідною темою сесії. Ми не передбачаємо кінець світу за календарями майя чи щось інше – воно нам не потрібно, бо люди самі, без календарів і передбачень здатні погубити планету і самих себе. Саме тому ми вважаємо, що треба щось змінювати, бо такий спосіб життя до добра не приведе…»                                                                                                         Євгенія Мелеховець

Хм, ну справді, часом здається, що люди просто зійшли з розуму і зовсім не задумуються над своїм (та й не тільки своїм) майбутнім. Мабуть тому, щоб вирішити такі «божевільні» проблеми треба підходити до них «з ізюминкою»…Інакше й не подумаєш, коли дивишся фото з попередньої фотосесії організаційної команди – колишня психлікарня – чудова локація!

«На даху було дуже холодно! Ми всі страшенно змерзли, тому потім пішли до мене, відігрівались і пили лімончелло…Я роздала всім теплі шкарпеточки, тому, будь ласка, в кого є шкарпетки – пожертвуйте на добру справу!»

Як і в кожному умовно «закритому» колективі, в нашої команди є свої жарти, зрозумілі тільки їм. В них навіть з’являються власні-слова паразити. Що ж, сленг буває і професійний.

«Перше – це слово «прелімінарний», воно використовується в нас так часто, що коментарі просто зайві. Друге слово-«мем» – «кушанька», що з’явилось коли ми обговорювали харчування. Третє слово – «джігіталізм», що з’явилось коли я пробувала пояснити, що ми живемо в світі цифрових технологій. Ціла фраза, що викликала в нас сміх – «Єгор, не забирай в бабусь тролейбус!» – з’явилась, коли ми обговорювали, який вид транспорту нам використовувати і виникало непорозуміння з приводу того, що громадський транспорт може ходити тільки згідно з розкладом. А якщо ми заберемо тролейбус в міста, то бабусі просто не знатимуть, що ж їм робити!»

P.S. На днях, організатори ходили в київський Музей води, щоб домовитись з керівництвом про екскурсії. Що ж, замісник директора був дуже радий їм, безкоштовно провів трьохгодинну екскурсію і показав дуже багато цікавих речей. От як круто знаходити нові можливості завдяки «прелімінарним» умовам для партнерства і бажанню дружити з боку зацікавлених осіб!
