Very soon, to be precise in two weeks, one of the most distinguishing events of 2009 for the European Youth Parliament in Ukraine – National Selection Session will start. The session, attended by delegates from all parts of Ukraine, will be held for the first time in the city of Sumy that is already ready to welcome 100 young Ukrainians and around 30 experienced committee chairs and journalists from all over Europe.

This year, as all previous years since 2003, EYP-Ukraine has successfully acted as a youth NGO partner of the European Commission Delegation to Ukraine recruiting and coordinating volunteers to work in the tents of the European countries, public debates and language schools.

Ten delegations from all the corners of Europe visited the magnificent Greek city of Kavala, which due to its natural beauty, magic landscape and ancient history brilliantly inspired the happy delegates for the fruitful teambuilding and juicy committee work. Two experienced EYPers – Yuliya Khurchakova (Mykolaiv) and Oleksandr Kutereshchyn (Ternopil) – represented Ukraine was represented at this outstanding event.

of the session all the participants were full of excitement and positive emotions as the 1st Sumy horse-riding complex was chosen to be a teambuilding venue, where EYPers had an opportunity not only to successfully build teams, but also to enjoy horse-riding and landscapes of Sumy suburbs.

Berlin has all of a sudden become BLISSed with all these loud EYPers running around the streets in the Sophienstrasse vicinity bothering people with all kinds of actions, i.e. teaching them the Zulu dance, taking photos of their babies, so on and so forth – all this in order to asap tick off all the fantastic quest-game tasks they were given as a part of a BLISS chairs training. The training took place in the Central Office of EYP, Berlin, June 29th – July 1st 2007.

On May 31, 2007 the members of International NGO European Youth Parliament - Ukraine Maryna Yaroshchuk and Oksana Chaika conducted a seminar on “Migration and Integration in Europe” for young people in Rivne. The seminar took place in Rivne and was attended by 17 local students. The choice of the seminar topic was connected with the enhancement of migration processes in Europe as well as of Ukraine’s role of a transit channel between East and West for millions of migrants.

Over 30 Donetsk students and 20 international ones from Armenia, Albania, the U.S., Russia and Moldova came together for a model UN project in the framework of a camp.

The International Youth Meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan, was held on May 26th – June 1st.
The main goal of the meeting was straightening the role of youth through the formulation of the youth policy in post-Soviet countries. Organized by Azery youth NGO “Bridge to the Future” event gathered 18 participants from 8 counties, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Moldova, Lithuania, Serbia and Czech Republic. Ukraine was represented by Oksana Udovyk
(Student Natural Association) and Nataliya Dovhopol (EYP-Ukraine).

April 30 – May 5, 2006 Eskisehir, Turkey
Traveling, making new friends, sharing experience, getting new impressions and knowledge…All these things are a part of young peoples’ lives. A couple of weeks ago, thanks to European Youth Parliament – Ukraine, we had a chance to participate in the project «Common Heritage of Different Cultures: World Literature» in Eskisehir, Turkey. Our delegation consisted of six girls from different universities, the youngest being a high school student from Cherkassy.

A seminar on stereotypes and ways to deal with them was organized by Intercultural Youth Association, EYP-Ukraine partner.
The seminar was held in the framework of European Commission Youth Program. 35 participants from 11 countries, EU members as well as non-EU states, took part in various workshops gaining experience in dealing with stereotypes and problems caused by them while moderating a work of a group coming from different backgrounds as well as about particularities of working with children.

This year is the European Youth Parliament – Ukraine supports the Delegation of the European Commission in organizing Europe Day for the 4th time. Europe Day in Kyiv is a traditional celebration, which will take place on 20 May on Khreshchatyk.

The 51st International session of the European Youth Parliament will take place on March 23 – April 2, 2006, in Paris, France. According to the decision the EYPUA Board Ukraine will be represented at the Session by Antonina Davydenko, student of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University Institute of International Relations, Anna Shaporenko, student of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University Institute of International Relations, Yulia Babenko, student of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and Oleksandr Kutereshchyn, student of the Kyiv State University of Culture and Arts.
