While becoming wide-spread and popular in the European Union, here in Ukraine the term “Euro-Skepticisms” still remains unfamiliar and sounds strange. The post-Soviet scientific thought in Ukraine got used to idealize the Union as a political structure. Especially this was noticeable in recent years. National scientists and researches possessed quite an idealistic approach to the European issues, and to some extent the situation hasn’t changed even under the influence of growing euro-skeptic attitudes within the EU. For instance, Ukrainian political scientists, such as O. Rudakevych and V. Yaniv, are used to describe the European political system and the structure of the European society as one that gives a person all the opportunities for free individual development, self-realization and facilitated participation in the decision-making process. Actually, many of our scientists may be called rather “Ukraine-skeptical”, while Europe seems to them the ideal pattern. |
